Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer, looking for a new opportunity?

If so, we have a rare opportunity to join this prestigious leading school based in the Warlingham area. You will provide 1st & 2nd Line Support for all technology provided across the school, working with the Apprentice IT Technician to ensure high quality IT services are always available.

Due to the nature of this role – enhanced DBS checks will be necessary and due to the rural location,

you will have your own transport

Salary: £25,500 to £29,000 DOE

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm or 8:30am -5pm (on weekly rota)

Lunch: Free lunch will be provided daily

Parking: There is free parking on site.

What will your working week include?

  • Provide 1st & 2nd Line Support for all IT hardware and services within the school community, escalating complex issues to the IT Manager as needed, including support for hosted systems such as the school MIS and telephony.
  • Ensure that all users have the necessary technology access for their roles; deliver high-quality support either remotely or face-to-face, updating both the user and ticketing system at every step until resolution.
  • Resolve issues and implement changes with minimal service impact, performing out-of-hours work if requested by the Director of IT.
  • Monitor the IT Helpdesk, progressing and assigning tickets to ensure prompt resolution for all support requests.
  • Support the IT Manager with maintaining user access rights for all hosted and local services.
  • Liaise with third-party service providers as required to address connectivity and technical issues.
  • Ensure effective communication by maintaining accurate documentation, providing one-on-one training, and keeping users, the IT team, and senior staff informed during any support or project work.
  • Troubleshoot and, when feasible, repair both school and student-owned hardware, involving third parties when necessary.

Do you have the required skills and experience?         

  • Administering Microsoft 365 user accounts.
  • Using Microsoft 365 tools in classroom settings, including Teams and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Supporting and maintaining IT hardware, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and classroom display screens.
  • Experience in supporting the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain high-quality documentation for both technical teams and end users.
  • Strong knowledge of data and cyber security best practices.
  • Fluent, precise written and spoken English.
