Your Day-to-Day Role:

  • Client Onboarding: Set up new clients on various software platforms, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Record Keeping & Reconciliations: Maintain accurate records and perform reconciliations to prepare trial balances for year-end accounts.
  • Reporting & Data Management: Extract and manipulate data for management accounts and internal use, helping clients make informed decisions.
  • Client Support: Provide day-to-day assistance to clients on software queries, ensuring they get the most out of the tools at their disposal.
  • VAT & Quarterly Accounts: Liaise with clients to gather necessary information for VAT registrations, quarterly accounts, and more.
  • VAT Expertise: Handle VAT registrations and navigate complex situations like domestic reverse charges with confidence.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bookkeeping Experience: Proven experience in an accounting practice.
  • Payroll Knowledge: A plus, though not essential.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to liaise with clients over the phone and resolve bookkeeping queries.
  • Microsoft Office Expertise: Especially in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAT or Equivalent: A strong foundation to build on your practical experience.
