Our client is a very successful MSP who pride themselves on providing an excellent level of customer service to all their clients; they recognise that IT isn’t all about computers – It’s about developing personal relationships and becoming a reliable partner. Their aim is to make their clients’ IT work in the best way for them.
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Location: Finchley, N3, with a hybrid working option of up to 3 days working from home
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 6.00 pm
The successful candidate will be skillful at pre-project/work-briefings with each client on each project. This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments rich in Windows Server, Exchange, IIS, Cisco Internetworking, VPN’s, firewalls, backup systems and more.
Responsibilities for the 3rd Line Support Engineer:
- IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems
- Technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
- Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
- Monitor the remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service tickets
- System documentation maintenance and review in ConnectWise and IT Glue
- Configuration of standard email clients including Outlook
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of Microsoft Office Suite applications per customer’s preferences
- Understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and mobile devices
- Network Server – Experience preferred with Windows Server and Microsoft 365
- Configure file, print and remote access services
- Administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup
- Administration of enterprise email applications, including add/remove users and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts, and add aliases
To be successful, you will need to hold experience within the following areas:
- Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems
- Experience with macOS desktop operating systems
- Experience required with mobile device operating systems
- Experience with fundamentals of cyber security
- Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
- Experience with routers and firewalls
- Experience with RDP, RDS, & Citrix
- Understanding of relationship between switches, access points, patch panels, and connecting nodes to a network
- Understanding of DNS services
- Working Knowledge of non-Cisco Firewall Technologies
- Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies
Do you have the required technical knowledge & experience?
- Engineer with two to four years’ experience as a minimum
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the following:
- Office 365/Microsoft 365
- Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support
- Mobile Device and Messaging Technology Support
- Server Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support
- Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
- Other experience wanted include: Meraki’s, Apple devices, Azure, Cloud, and security stack
- Has at least one certification. The following certifications are preferred: MCITP, MCP, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Project+, Network+, Apple
