Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:30 to cover operating hours.

Join a dynamic team! Our client is in search of a seasoned and adept Senior Support Engineer to complement their skilled workforce. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in senior support roles within the IT sector, showcasing extensive expertise as the ultimate point of escalation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve computer software and hardware issues.
  • Proactively monitor backups, systems, and conduct regular tests for recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers to troubleshoot and coordinate hardware repairs.
  • Ensure proper control of all IT assets and adhere to correct software licensing.
  • Document changes and solutions following change control procedures.
  • Install and configure computer hardware and software.
  • Provide project support and actively participate in projects.
  • Administer and maintain customer infrastructure, covering Active Directory, Azure AD, LAN, Internet access, firewalls, and Exchange/Office 365.
  • Install and configure cybersecurity software and hardware
  • Proficiency in MS servers.
  • Firewall setup and configuration.
  • Strong networking experience, including VLAN configuration and IP networking.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper V host builds, SAN connectivity, and Hyper V Clustering.
  • Practical knowledge of VMWare V host builds, SAN connectivity, and VMware Clustering.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, from the ground up.
  • Hardware experience, including drive swapping, RAID controller swaps, etc.
  • Proficiency in Azure Servers, VDI, and network builds from the ground up.
  • Possession of a current UK Driver’s license with occasional site visits expected.

Desired Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in HP/Dell and other leading manufacturers’ hardware diagnostic and fault resolution.
  • Microsoft accreditations.
  • Current qualifications in firewalls
  • Clear and logical thinking with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to build strong business relationships.
  • Highly motivated, pragmatic, and practical with a strong work ethic.
